Personal Data
The Controller processes the following categories of personal data
- Full name
- Email address
Purpose
For the purpose of the EuCanImage project, the Controller processes personal data for the following purposes
- advertising, organisation and realization of and participation in scientific events and training sessions both online and in-person.
- advertising, creation, production and distribution of analogue and digital scientific publications including newsletters
The data processed based on these purposes will be used for EuCanImage -related activities only. Data will under no circumstances be disclosed or sold to any third party except processors carefully chosen and bound by contractual obligations to process personal data on behalf of the Controller and in compliance with GDPR.
Legal Basis
Pursuant to article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), the processing of the personal data carried out by the Controller for the implementation and execution of the EuCanImage project will be based on the principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimization, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity and accountability.
For the purpose of the EuCanImage project, your personal data is processed provided that you have given us your consent for processing your personal data for one or more of the purposes listed above to contribute to and support the EuCanImage project, to participate in project-related events, to provide feedback, or to receive dissemination material on the results of this EU-funded research and innovation project.
For the purpose of the EuCanImage project, the Controller also may process your personal data if it is necessary for compliance with legal obligations to which the Controller is subject.
Additional lawful basis for the processing may be the Regulation (EU) No 1291/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2013 establishing Horizon 2020 – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2014-2020) and its annex.
Categories of Recipients
For the purpose of the EuCanImage project, the Controller only discloses personal data if such disclosure is based on legal obligations or if the disclosure is required for the performance of a contract or for steps to be taken prior to entering into a contract or if the data subject has given the consent or in the event that the disclosure is necessary for the purpose of the legitimate interests pursued by the Controller or by a third party except where such interests are overridden by the interests of the data subject. The disclosure has to be adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are disclosed (“data minimisation”)
For the purpose of the EuCanImage project, the data processed by the Controller may be disclosed to the following categories of recipients:
- email service providers
- IT service providers
- marketing, advertising and public relations agencies
- courts, authorities, regional authorities, social insurance agencies and professional associations in research fields relevant for EuCanImage
Storage Period
The Controller shall only store personal data for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose of the EuCanImage project. The Controller shall destroy any personal data when it is no longer needed for that purpose.
Sources of Personal Data
For the purpose of the EuCanImage project, the Controller primarily processes data provided by the data subject with their consent for processing their personal data. In addition, the Controller may process personal data from public sources such as the world wide web in general and publications or websites of the data subject or of universities, hospitals, research institutions, doctors’ platforms, or physicians’ portals.
Third Countries and International Organisations
For the purpose of the EuCanImage project, the Controller does not transfer data to third countries.
Automated Decision-making
The Controller does not use personal data for automated decision-making.
Rights of the Data Subject
Every data subject is entitled to the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection. In order to exercise these rights, data subjects should contact the Controller. In the event the data subject is of the opinion that the processing of the data subject’s personal data infringes data protection law or the data subject’s right to privacy, the data subject may complain with the relevant authority being the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) in Austria.
In the event a data subject has given the consent for the processing of his data for a specific purpose and such data were also processed subject to another legal basis, for example for the performance of a contract or for the pursuit or defense of legal claims, the data subject’s withdrawal of the consent to process such data has no relevance on the processing of such data subject to another legal basis.
Data protection provisions related to the application and use of Google Analytics
On this website, the Controller has integrated the component of Google and collects anonymised log data (information that your browser sends whenever you visit our website).
The purpose of the Google Analytics component is to analyse the traffic on our website. Google uses the collected data and information, inter alia, to evaluate the use of our website and to provide online reports, which show the activities on our websites, and to provide other services concerning the use of our website for us. The EuCanImage consortium uses this information to evaluate and report on its dissemination, communication and outreach activities for the purpose of a successful implementation of the EuCanImage project.

Purpose of the EuCanImage Website
The main purpose of the EuCanImage website is to inform about and share the results of the EuCanImage project. EuCanImage is a four-year research project developing an EU-wide repository for health-related imaging data as an open source for AI experimentation in cancer management. It has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 952172. The opinions stated on this website do not reflect the opinion of the European Commission.
